DONOVAN KEITH

09:00 PM

The man who never stops moving. Hailing from the midwest and currently calling Austin, TX home, Donovan Keith is best known for his classic soul vocals and infectious showmanship that has won over audiences time and time again. Donovan moved to Austin in 2009 and cut his teeth in the Texas music scene in gritty, low-ceiling dive bars with his first project, Soul Track Mind. STM was embraced by the community and Donovan’s one-of-a-kind, dance-infused stage show became beloved by fans and acknowledged by reviewers across the country, earning kudos from the likes of Performer Magazine which declared, “Aside from showcasing an impressive vocal range and blues-soaked sound, Keith can engage an audience with his unbridled enthusiasm and dance moves.”

Donovan’s uniquely vintage style combining soul, funk, and rock blends well with a variety of musical genres and his universal appeal has seen him open for acts such as Enrique Iglesias, Tower Of Power, the late Charles Bradley, Fastball, Snarky Puppy, and Erykah Badu. Career highlights have included official selections at SXSW, the attainment of the Louisiana Music Prize, and appearances at Wakarusa Music Festival, Utopia Festival, and Viva Big Bend.

JADE MARIE PATEK

08:30 PM

Jade Marie Patek delivers a soulful southern rock sound that is inspired by artists like Janis Joplin and the Allman Brothers Band. After the 2018 release of her debut EP, “Fly Bird”, she was named Texas Regional Radio’s New Female Vocalist of the Year. Jade can be found playing everything from large events and festivals around the country, to short acoustic sets online with the Sequestered Songwriters group. With her first full album release scheduled for Spring of 2023, Jade is looking forward to continuing the evolution of her songwriting and full band live show.

Jade has been added to playlist’s curated by Spotify (New Music Nashville and Texas Music Now) and Apple’s Musics Don’t Mess with Texas and was featured in articles by Music Mecca, Americanaville (Scotland), York Calling (UK), and Next Women of Country. She is a member of The Americana Music Association, TRRMA, Texas Country Music Association, BMI and Sequestered Songwriters.

Patek started playing band shows for the first time in 2022 and proved why she belongs at the A-list table.  Her strong, malleable voice lends itself to fronting a band and her joyous personality onstage leads you to wanting more. - GalleyWinter (Favorite live shows of ‘22 list)

BoomCHANK

07:30 PM

Brannen Temple and Hadden Sayers met while playing in Blues Queen Ruthie Foster's "Phenomenal Band".  Almost immediately Sayers asked Temple if he would play drums for his Texas gigs when available...

As luck would have it one of Sayers' trio performances...a sold-out holiday performance in his hometown of Houston...was beset with the misfortune of a sick (and subsequently absent) bass player.

It was during this performance....a duo show by necessity.. that it became clear that the duo had struck synergistic gold.

The rest, as they say, is history.  Plans to record were hatched,..a band name (a nod to the "BOOM" of the bass drum and the "CHANK" of the guitar) and many opportunities to perform around the world.

GUS CLARK & The Least of His Problems

07:30 PM

At the tender age of eighteen, the Seattle-born crooner Gus Clark hit out to explore the United States with a backpack and a mandolin, cutting his teeth playing on the street and traveling by freight train or the kindness of those still bold enough to pick up a hitchhiker. Emerging over ten years later as an accomplished multi-instrumentalist (guitar, accordion, mandolin, and more), he now pays beautiful homage to an ultra-deep well of golden-era American music traditions, ranging from pre-WWII blues to 1960s Nashville honky tonk. In a voice that combines unique sincerity with pitch-perfect emotive richness, Clark delivers classic barn-burners, good-time dance tunes, bittersweet heartbreak ballads, and his own originals. His remarkable tenor  and powerful musical presence are guaranteed to both wrench hearts and propel listeners onto the dance floor, whether Clark performs solo or backed by his rock-solid band.

Over the years, Clark has proved himself as a staple of the Seattle music scene, frequenting the area's renowned country dance bars and Americana venues and lighting up its largest festivals with a range of projects. A regular guest vocalist at tribute nights and charity events, he's shared the stage with contemporary greats and up-and-comers such as Charlie Crockett, Pokey LaFarge, Eilen Jewell, Cactus Blossoms, Jeremy Pinnell, Whitney Rose, Easy Leaves, and Jaime Wyatt. He’s a regular touring member of the outlaw party-country band Country Lips, contributing on accordion, vocals, and mandolin. For a decade now, Clark has also made music - an unmatchable mix of early jazz, jug-band, country, blues, old-time, Cajun, klezmer and originals - with his "musical sibling,” the Virginia-raised fiddle virtuoso and singer/songwriter Annie Ford. The dynamic duo's sweet harmonies have won hearts in humble living rooms, on street corners, on the grand stages of old vaudeville theaters, and far beyond.

WESLEY HANNA TRIO

08:30 PM

Wesley Hanna is a Texas country singer-songwriter living in Fort Worth, TX. When he’s not hard at work in his role as a petroleum engineer, he moonlights as a showman and barroom poet. His honky tonk repertoire has made him and his bandmates, Stacie Hanna (bass) and Michael Durkan (fiddle), a hit in the dancehalls and dives in the great state of Texas. The group brings a neo-traditional Texas swagger to their sets like none other, that pays homage to the roots of the Lone Star State and its unique culture.

The album Brand New Love Potion was recorded in 2022 at the Zone Recording Studio in Dripping Springs, TX. Produced by veteran engineer Pat Manske, the 10-song LP is filled with original honky tonk hits that provide the listener with a pure lone-star experience. The album consists of mostly traditional country tracks that take the listener back to a time when country music was played on country radio. Kyle “Trigger” Coroneos of Saving Country Music writes, “This is one of those albums where some of the songs are so good, you would swear they must be covers. The opening title track sells you on Wesley Hanna within the first 15 seconds. “Back to the Honky Tonks” is an idea that’s been done in a dozen country songs before, but perhaps nobody has done it better than Hanna does here. “Texas Road Trip” and “Concho Pearl” are perfect examples of how to use geography in songwriting to favorable results. And “The Waltz” is just a stellar country song, plain and simple.”

Featured on the record are some of the best musicians Texas has to offer, with none other than “the pride of Lubbock, Texas,” Mr. Lloyd Maines, on the pedal steel. On lead guitar and bass is Scrappy Jud Newcomb, a producer and well-known stage musician himself, who lends his talents to Slaid Cleaves, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Adam Carroll, and several other Americana legends. Brian Beken, who currently plays in Robert Earl Keen’s band, can be heard on the fiddle, which is a prominent fixture on several of the very traditional country tracks. Bukka Allen is featured on the keys and Pauline Reese on harmony vocals for a handful of songs, providing the finishing touch.

The stars that shine on this album prove they really are big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas. The record also features Pat on the drums. Pat says of the project, “Wes Hanna has a heart of gold and sings the truth. His lyrics make you feel his characters’ pain, and hope. His voice is pure, powerful, and vulnerable. He’s put in his time at the writer’s desk, these songs prove it.”

JESSEE LEE BAND

08:30 PM

A LITTLE ABOUT JESSEE LEE

A SOULFUL SONGSTRESS

Nashville recording Artist and Texas touring act, Jessee Lee, is a troubadour at its finest. At the ripe age of 25, she plays over 160 shows per year touring acoustically and with her 5 piece band. She has opened for several artists including Pure Prairie League, Darryl Worley, Radney Foster, William Beckmann, Kix Brooks, and others along with gracing the historic stages of Gruene Hall, Luckenbach Dancehall, John T. Floore’s Country Store, The AT&T Stadium, Dosey Doe—The Big Barn, and many more. Along with playing iconic venues around Texas, she has performed at festivals all around the United States including the Key West Songwriter Festival, the Mississippi Songwriter Festival, Forever West Fest, the Panama City Songwriter Festival, Florabama, and many more, sharing her Vintage-Americana-Soul sound. “Vintage-Americana-Soul” is the easiest way to box in this unique Artist, but Jessee’s music is a melting pot of genres ranging from Country to Motown topped with dimples and a lot of turquoise. Jessee Lee is known for her picturesque songwriting ability, unique vocals, and quirky bass line-like guitar playing. Jessee’s biggest musical influences include Amy Winehouse, Waylon Jennings, Guy Clark, Leon Redbone, Dolly Parton, Etta James, Elvis, and the Alabama Shakes.

Along with legendary singers, Jessee was heavily shaped by the Nashville Songwriting scene. Her Father, Grammy nominated Singer-Songwriter, David Lee, was her biggest musical influence. From the early age of 6, her father taught her how to play guitar and he emphasized the importance of good story telling in a song. There is no doubt she absorbed all of the creativity she grew up around. With over 200 original songs, you will find Jessee’s songwriting ability surpasses the usual mind of a 25 year old. Her repertoire of songs cover the reality of aging, the inner workings of family, the quest of life’s purpose, the hardships and happiness of relationships, and the obscure thoughts we have all had, but never knew we needed a song for. Jessee’s passion for writing songs extends outside of just writing songs for her records and for other artists, but it also extends to working with Veterans. Jessee began working with an organization called “Operation Song” in the beginning of 2022 which allows her to write the stories of active and retired military Veterans with PTSD as a form of music therapy at a rehab center called Warrior’s Heart.

Jessee put out her first single in November of 2022 titled "Dive Bar Superstar" which earned her "Texas Song of the Week" on the TIR charts and another in January of 2023 called "You're Gonna Be Your Mama". Both are original songs that showcase her humor as well as her ability to seamlessly blend Country and Soul music. In 2023, Jessee  dropped her first song to Texas Regional Radio called "Where He Ain't" which charted in the top 20's--not bad for a debut. Jessee released her first 7-song EP titled "Dive Bar Superstar", which she co-produced, in August of 2023 and is already planning on getting back in the studio to start the next project by December of 2023. With no plan of slowing down, Jessee Lee is sure to be a name you will be hearing for years to come. Come see a show near you to see why she is known as one of the best female singer-songwriters in the scene.
